BNA checks price discounts at Telekom

German network regulator BNA is examining whether Deutsche Telekom is distorting competition for internet and telephony with discounts offered to customers, the regulator confirmed to Heise.de. An investigation was started after two complaints, the BNA said, without providing further details. In certain cities, Telekom offers contracts at prices less than the wholesale cost to resellers. Promotions in cities like Berlin, Munich or Stuttgart caused the complaints. Telekom's Magenta M tariff with 50 Mbps broadband and a VoIP flat-rate is available for as little as EUR 24.95 per month in Cologne
