BnA confirms regulation of fibre network last-mile access

The German Federal Network Agency BnA has officially confirmed plans to regulate last-mile access to Telekom Deutschland's future fibre-optic network. The proposals have now been set to the EU Commission and national regulators of other EU member states for their opinions. BnA president Matthias Kurth said that regulation of last-mile access to the fibre-optic network would be in the interest of all parties, giving Telekom network planning security and ensuring that rival operators are not disadvantaged in terms of pricing or technology.
