BNetzA consider higher fines for telecoms providers

The German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) received 28,000 requests and complaints in 2014 about waiting times of up to several weeks and months when changing telecoms provider. In an interview with Der Tagesspiegel, BNetzA president Jochen Homann called for priorities for improvement and higher penalties for providers. The disruption when changing a provider should be no longer than one calendar day. BNetzA punishes infringements with fines and the imposition of penalties. Homann is considering raising the scope for setting fines if there is no sign of lasting improvement. Regarding Deutsche
