BoG to approve interest on mobile money deposits by year-end

The Bank of Ghana will give approval for the payment of interest on mobile money deposits in the country by the end of 2016, Starr Business reports. Deputy Head of Payment Systems at the Bank of Ghana, Carissa Kudowor, said the approval means customers will be earning between 1.5 percent and 7 percent on the amount in their wallet with MTN Ghana, Vodafone Ghana, Tigo Ghana and Airtel Ghana from 2017.
