Bolivia mobile phone theft up 44% in H1

Tuesday 20 September 2016 | 15:19 CET | News
A total of 97,686 mobile phones were reported stolen in Bolivia in the first six months of 2016, some 44 percent more than in the year-earlier period, according to data from the country's Telecommunications Regulation Authority (ATT). The La Paz Department saw 31,024 stolen between January and June, followed by Santa Cruz with 28,223 thefts and Cochabamba with 16,006. The ATT last year revealed that between 2010 and 2015, national mobile operators reported 781,173 lost or stolen devices, prompting it to join the GSMA's 'We Care' initiative.
