Bolivia to launch mobile number portability next month

Wednesday 5 September 2018 | 12:10 CET | News
Bolivia will finally launch mobile number portability (MNP) for the country's 11 million-plus lines in October, around 6 years after the service was first proposed, reports news site Pagina Siete. The country's communications watchdog ATT has confirmed that Entel, Viva and Tigo have implemented the required changes to their systems, allowing mobile customers with a minimum 60-day contract and no outstanding debts to retain their number when changing operator. Users may change operators up to twice a year without incurring any expenses apart from the cost of the new SIM card, said the report.
