Bolivian operators fined BOB 31 mln for service failures

Wednesday 2 March 2016 | 14:25 CET | News
Bolivia's Authority for the Regulation and Control of Telecommunications and Transport (ATT) has fined the country's telecoms operators Entel, Tigo (Millicom) and Viva (Nuevatel) BOB 31 million (around USD 4.5 million) each for a number of service issues corresponding to 2015. The Bolivian Information Agency (ABI) reported that the fines were due to unannounced interruptions, blackouts and inadequate service. During the first half of 2015, the regulator received 478 complaints of poor service provided by mobile operators.
