Bolivian satellite generated revs of USD 18 mln

Bolivia's Space Agency (ABE) has already obtain revenues of USD 18million from the provision of telecoms services through the country's TKSAT-1 (Tupac Katari) satellite. The Tupac Katari satellite was launched into space in December 2013 and on 1 April 2014 began commercial operations. ABE's general director Ivan Zambrana said that nearly 60 percent of the country's TKSAT-1 satellite capacity is currently in use, Zambrana said that current customers include state-oil firm YPFB, state-telecoms operator Entel, mobile operator Viva, the National Customs Service and the army.
