Botswana Sim registration drive yet to catch on

Very few of Botswana's prepaid mobile users have answered the industry regulator's call to register their Sim cards ahead of the deadline of 31 December, the Sunday Standard newspaper reports. The Botswana Telecommunications Agency's public relations officer Twoba Koontse said only 267,113 prepaid mobile subscribers have registered, equal to just 13 percent of the over 2.2 million mobile phone owners in the country.
