Bouygues, Huawei achieve 1 Gbps LTE downloads

Wednesday 25 May 2016 | 08:33 CET | News
French operator Bouygues Telecom and Huawei Technologies have claimed a Western European record for LTE download speeds, over 1 Gbps, by using 4-carrier aggregation offering 60 MHz of total spectrum. The demonstration took place at the operator's labs in Meudon, southwest Paris, using Huawei's radio access platform equipped with the new SRAN 11 software as well as Bouygues' commercial IP and fibre network. The top upload speed, using 2-carrier aggregation, was over 100 Mbps. The demonstration also featured MIMO 4x4 technology and 256 QAM modulation.
