Brazil confirms free digital STB details

The Brazil government has published the list of municipalities that will switch to full digital broadcasting by the end of 2018 and areas that will receive free receivers for low-income households. The decree was published in the official gazette by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications (MCTIC). The receivers are financed and distributed by the group Seja Digital, set up by telecom operators to help with the migration of broadcasting from the 700 MHz band. Houdeholds in the federal 'Bolsa Familia' programme will qualify for the free boxes. Any towns not listed in
