Brazil considers 1500, 2300 MHz bands for 5G

The spectrum manager of Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel), Agostinho Linhares said that he is considering plans to make available the 1,500 MHz and 2,300 MHz bands for 5G by 2022. For him, it will be necessary to guarantee continuous blocks of 1 GHz per operator for the 5G bands. Regarding spectrum for the Internet of Things (IoT), Anatel's adviser Anibal Diniz said that the regulator does not need to wait for 5G. The current bands licensed for the mobile service and those not licensed at 5GHz are options and in Brazil there are already manufacturers developing applications
