Brazil e-commerce sales to grow 24 percent in 2013

Thursday 21 March 2013 | 09:36 CET | News
Brazilian e-commerce sales should reach BRL 28 billion this year, an increase of about 24 percent over the BRL 22.5 billion billed in 2012, said e-bit, an online marketing specialist. It said the stronger sales are due to the resumption of economic growth and the acceleration of sales of mobile devices like tablets and smartphones. The data does not include services and offers from collective buying sites. Last year, the home appliances segment led sales online, with 12.4 percent of the total, followed by fashion and accessories (12.2%) and health, beauty and drugs (12%).
