Brazil ends November with 270.5 mln mobile phones

Preliminary data from Brazilian regulator Anatel indicates that the country ended November 2013 with 270.5 million mobile phone lines in operation and a penetration rate of 136.24 percent, reports Teleco. Net additions in the month totaled 595,000 lines, a significant drop on the 738,000 lines added in November 2012. The pre-paid segment saw a net loss of 86,000, while there were 681,000 post-paid additions. The share of the pre-paid segment dropped to 78.37 percent.
