Brazil fixed lines down by 4.4% in year to August

Brazil had 39.1 million fixed lines in operation in August, down by 0.59 percent on the previous month and by 4.42 percent in one year, according to data from the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel),. Authorized operators had 16.7 million lines, down 1.22 percent year-on-year, while concession operators accounted for 22.4 million, or 6.68 percent less than a year ago.
