Brazil mobile market slows to 436,000 new lines in October

October was the second worst month for Brazil's mobile operators in 2012, according to data from regulator Anatel, with only 436,000 new mobile lines were added. Only July was a worse month, with 279,720 net additions, when Anatel prohibited Claro, Oi and Tim from selling new lines in states with a quality of service problems. During the first half of 2012, the market had been growing at a rate of 2.2 million new additions per month. With the October figures, the average of the first four months of the second half is slightly over 791,000 new lines per month. Overall, Brazil ended October
