Brazil national broadband plan connects 1.5 mln

Some 1.5 million Brazilians are already benefitting from the National Broadband Plan (PNBL), which provides internet connections with a minimum speed of 1 Mbps for BRL 35. The announcement was made by Communications Minister Paulo Bernardo during the Campus Party, an annual internet event that takes place this week in Sao Paulo. Bernardo added that about 1 million users are connected via Telefonica/Vivo. He also said that the PNBL foresees the inclusion of new technologies such as 4G, which will expand internet access, as well as the use of the 450 MHz band to connect small municipalities and
