Brazil opens part of satellite control centre in Brasilia

Brazilian President Michel Temer has inaugurated part of a control centre in Brasilia that will operate and monitor defense and broadband satellites launched by Brazil, reports O Globo. The Main Space Operations Center (COPE-P) will have a total cost of BRL 200 million, and the work is divided into two phases. The first is the operational part, which will allow the migration of satellite equipment already in operation. The administrative areas are not yet ready and should only be delivered in the middle of 2019.
