Brazil opens public consultation on net neutrality

Wednesday 1 April 2015 | 11:39 CET | News
Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) has launched a public consultation to discuss the regulation of net neutrality. The purpose of the consultation, which runs until 4 May, is receiving market contributions to help the agency formulate a position on the matter. Law 12,965/2015 ensures network neutrality and states that the regulation of this issue depends on previous consultation with the Internet Steering Committee and Anatel. Network neutrality provides that all internet users are treated equally, without benefit or limitation to specific customers or services.
