Brazil plans network in 700 MHz band for security forces

Brazil is planning to set up an integrated communication network for the public security forces. This mobile broadband network will occupy part of the 700 MHz frequency band, which is being released with the roll-out of digital TV in the country. According to the director of broadband at the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications, Artur Coimbra, the creation of an integrated network will allow security agencies to communicate more easily, improve efficiency and save resources.
