Brazil regulator sees rural broadband coverage passing 73% in 2023

Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) is forecasting the expansion of fibre backhaul from 4,012 to 4,883 cities served by 2023, while the average contracted fixed broadband speed will go up from 45 Mbps to 150 Mbps. Mobile broadband coverage is expected to go from 97.3 percent of the population to 98.65 percent. The figures are included in Anatel's update of its strategic planning for the period until 2024.
