Brazil accounts for 60 percent of the turnover of the Terra internet portal, owned by Spain's Telefonica, according to the head of the group for Latin America, the USA and Spain, Paulo Castro. In an interview with Brazilian media, he pointed out that Terra's revenue sources include advertising, sales of music and video services, as well as the provision of ISP services. He stressed that the intention is to make Terra a global service while, at the same time, creating local windows. In order to achieve this goal, according to him, more will be invested in regional programming and content.
