Brazil sees satellite broadband connections double in past year

Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) said that there were 161,467 satellite broadband subscriptions in the country in July, double compared to July last year (+100.52%). The president of Anatel, Juarez Quadros said at a workshop on the services that satellite is a complementary solution for many localities of the interior of the country, especially in the North, Northeast and interior of the state of Sao Paulo.
