Brazil telecom revenue falls 2.9% in Q2

The total net revenue of the telecommunications sector in Brazil dropped 2.9 percent in the second quarter of 2016, according to the Teleco consultancy. This confirms the negative trend from previous quarters, after net revenue fell 2.1 percent in Q1 2016 and by 0.1 percent in Q4 2015. Fixed broadband is the only service that has maintained growth in revenues over the past 12 months (+4.9%), compared to a 1.2 percent fall in fixed telephony, 4.4 percent drop in pay-TV and 5.4 percent decline in mobile telephony revenues. Among the operators, Vivo is the only one with revenue growth, at 2.5
