Brazilian 3.5 GHz band migration to 5G will affect 17 mln satellite TV viewers

Plans for the change of the use of the 3.5 GHz band for 5G mobile telephony instead of satellite TV in Brazil mean that 9 million households will have to acquire new satellite reception equipment, while another 8.2 million low-income families will be compensated from funds raised during the 5G auction.
