Brazilian Antitrust approves JV between Telefonica Brasil and Canada's CDPQ

The General Superintendence of Brazil's Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade) has approved, without restrictions, the joint venture contract between Telefonica Brasil and Canadian pension fund CDPQ, through FiBrasil, a neutral optical fibre network provider for telecom operators. To set up the joint venture, CDPQ will acquire 50 percent of FiBrasil, which is fully owned by Telefonica.
