Brazilian court suspends sale of Copel's telecom assets

Monday 13 January 2020 | 09:58 CET | News
The Parana State Court decided to suspend the contract of Copel with Rothschild for the provision of financial advice services for the sale of the company's telecom arm, Copel Telecom. The decision is based on the fact that the contract was signed without a bidding process by the state-owned power company, according to a document seen by Reuters. Copel is selling its telecom unit as part of a divestment plan of non-essential assets, and is expected to hold an auction sale in the first half of 2020.
