Brazilian electrical and electronics sector lobbies against zero tariffs on imported ICT and capital goods

The Brazilian Electrical and Electronics Industry Association (Abinee) has asked Minister of Economy Paulo Guedes to revoke an ordinance aiming to set zero tariffs for imports of ICT and capital goods that are also produced in Brazil. According to Abinee's president, Humberto Barbato, these changes will cause substantial damage to the Brazilian industry. He said that the government's plans have generated apprehension and legal insecurity in the electronics sector, undermining the decision to invest in the country.
