Brazilian operators activate 2,200 new mobile base stations in August

Brazilian mobile telephony operators activated 2,166 new mobile base stations in August, according to data from the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) compiled by Telco. Most of the activations were done by Nextel, controlled by Claro, with 1,566 new base stations. Vivo was second with 430, followed by TIM (144), Claro (19) and Oi (7).
