Brazilian operators oppose investment requirements in 5G auction notice

Brazilian telecom operators have criticized at least two investment requirements imposed by the 5G auction notice during a public hearing in the House of Representatives, reports Folha de Sao Paulo. For them, the construction of a closed network for the Federal Government and the displacement of satellite TV channels to avoid interference with free-to-air TV will require at least BRL 6 billion of investments. The companies estimate that the value of the frequencies will be around BRL 25 billion.
