Brazilian operators start promoting cheap fixed telephony

Tuesday 18 March 2014 | 22:34 CET | News
Brazilian fixed telephony concession holders have launched an advertising campaign for the 'popular phone', i.e. a budget price fixed telephony service. The scheme is an obligation established by Anatel. The bargain phone service should be offered by local fixed telephony concession holders Oi/Brasil Telecom, Telefonica, Sercomtel and CTBC Telecom. The subscription includes a monthly allowance of 90 call minutes to local fixed lines and costs less than BRL 15. It is aimed at social welfare programme beneficiaries.
