Brazil's Senate has approved a new Bill that exempts IoT devices from taxes for five years. The decision has been called a "milestone" in the expansion of connectivity and development of telecommunications in the country by Conexis Brasil Digital (formerly SindiTelebrasil), the entity that represents operators in the sector. Data from LCA Consultores indicate that a tax waiver of BRL 1.8 billion over three years will result in the collection of BRL 17 billion.
