Brazil's CPQD to start Open RAN development

Brazil's Telecommunication Research and Development Centre (CPQD) will start the development of OpenRAN technology this month, reports O Globo. The project will initially cost BRL 20 million and will focus on creating solutions for providers and private networks to be used by the industry for the next three years. The resources will come from the Fund for Technological Development of Telecommunications (Funttel), managed by the federal government.
