The Brazilian government will launch a public consultation on 18 October on the National Telecommunications Policy, reports O Globo. The consultation will be a review of the regulatory framework of the sector, updating it so that it takes into consideration the technological changes of the last years.

The text points to three priorities for which the investment commitments included in the Terms of Conduct Adjustment (TAC) negotiated by Anatel should be addressed. These include: the expansion of high-capacity transport networks, mobile broadband and fixed broadband coverage.

The text also says that these transport networks deployed on account of agreements in TAC's will be subject to sharing from the moment they come into operation. The consultation will be open for 30 days.
