Breko advocates municipal support for fibre

German federal broadband association Breko is focusing on partnerships between member network providers and cities and municipalities in its latest 'Broadband Compass 2015 Plus', as the carriers are the driving forces of broadband expansion. Breko has created the slogan 'Not Without My Mayor' to highlight its view that fibre network expansion has to make progress at the communal and regional level. The association reports on innovative cooperations between municipalities and network providers; one possibility is 'citizen networks', where the city council builds the fibre grid as a future
