Broadband penetration reaches 7.8% in August 2001

Germany: Broadband penetration reached 7.8% of homes in August 2001, vs 6% in May 2001, 5.2% in February 2001 and 4.1% in November 2000, according to NetValue. A total of 6,136,200 homes now use a modem to connect to the Internet, while 4,518,400 homes use ISDN, 485,400 homes use ADSL and 416k homes use a cable connection.
