Broadcast TV revenues reach GBP 13.6 bln in 2015 - Ofcom

The latest Ofcom Communications Market Report shows that broadcast TV generated revenue of GBP 13.6 billion in the UK in 2015. This was partly driven by an increase in pay-TV subscription revenue to GBP 6.2 billion. Spending on network programmes reached GBP 6.5 billion in 2015, up 3 percent from a year earlier. On average, each person in the UK watched 3 hours and 36 minutes of broadcast TV per day in 2015, down by 4 minutes from 2014. The report shows that over half (59%) of UK adults used a VoD service in 2015, compared to 57 percent in 2014. Although the growth of VoD services is slowing
