Broadcom adds support for VDSL2 35b, G.fast bonding

Broadcom is adding support for the VDSL2 35b and G.fast bonding protocols under development at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). With support for these new standards on its chips, DSL operators will be able to roll out the techniques on existing gateways running Broadcom chips once the standards are finalised. The new 35b protocol leverages the benefits of VDSL2 vectoring at higher data rates. The standard increases aggregate DSL performance by up to 100 percent, without disturbing widely-deployed G.Vector crosstalk cancellation technology. Broadcom said it's the first
