Broadcom launches open switch API library

Broadcom has announced the launch of a new software platform for third-party developers building on the company's StrataXGS data centre switches. The Open Network Switch Library (OpenNSL) is made up of APIs that map Broadcom's Software Development Kit (SDK), together with sample code and a developer's guide. The aim is to give original equipment markers, independent software vendors and network operators the opportunity to build new applications for their network equipment and infrastructure requirements.
