Broadnet wins right to offer SHDSL.bis technology

Norwegian operator Broadnet can now offer SHDSL.bis services to its corporate customers via Telenor Norway's copper network, after a Ministry of Transport and Communications ruling ended a two-year battle, according to Telecom Revy. Broadnet COO Per Morten Torvildsen said Telenor had used various legal and technical manoeuvres to hinder Broadnet. The SHDSL.bis standard was brought in as long ago as 2013 and can boost the speed on copper cables from 8 Mbps from 20 Mbps.
