BSI warns of fresh attack against internet users

Germany's Federal Office for Information Technology Security (BSI) has warned of a fresh criminal internet attack which has stolen the passwords and e-mail addresses of around 18 million internet users, including around 3 million German e-mail addresses. The BSI is working with e-mail service providers Deutsche Telekom, Freenet, gmx.de, Kabel Deutschland, Vodafone and web.de to inform affected customers. In addition, the BSI is providing a web-based security test for concerned internet users.
