BT sees strong broadband, Wi-Fi use over Christmas

BT announced that BT Broadband and BT Wi-Fi use increased significantly over the festive period and almost doubled year-on-year (up 95%) on 25 December. The festive season also saw a steep rise in Netflix use, a 43 percent increase in five weeks, peaking on the evening of Sunday 03 January before people returned to work. Time spent online on BT Wi-fi over the festive period 2015 was up 35 percent year-on-year, increasing by more than 725 million minutes and more than 700 million extra MBs were consumed, a 50 percent increase from 2014.
