BT signs up 60,000 TV, 85,000 broadband customers in Q1

BT Group has reported revenue of GBP 4.28 billion for the first quarter ending 30 June, down 2 percent from a year earlier, with group EBITDA up 1 percent to GBP 1.45 billion. Adjusted profit before tax was up 9 percent to GBP 694 million. BT confirmed that superfast fibre broadband was now available to more than 23 million premises across the UK, with a take-up rate of 20 percent. BT Consumer revenue was up 3 percent year-on-year to GBP 1.07 billion, with broadband and TV revenue up 7 percent. BT Consumer EBITDA increased 7 percent to GBP 254 million.
