BT wins concession to provide public Wi-Fi in Glasgow

Glasgow City Council has awarded BT a wireless concession licence to make free public Wi-Fi available across the city's streets and public spaces. BT deliver the Wi-Fi infrastructure, with the first phase of the Urban Wireless programme delivered ahead of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. This will see between 50-80 wireless access points installed around high footfall areas and transport hubs around the city centre and parts of the East End. There will be free 24-hour access to the network for the first six months and after this period there will be free access for 30 minutes per day per
