Btel sees profit drop in H1

Hungarian telecommunications company Business Telecom (Btel) saw its revenue rose sharply in H1, namely by 69 percent to almost HUF 3 billion, according to local paper Budapest Business Journal citing an earnings report published on 14 August. Figures were lifted by a HUF 806 million increase in exports supported by sales of its targeted-ad product Xprime. Its profit, however, fell due to financial losses. While Btel's operating profit grew by 66 percent to HUF 762 million, after-tax profit fell by 63 percent down to HUF 163 million caused by a HUF 599 million financial loss. BTel has over
