BTRC plans internet filtering system

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) is seeking to filter certain content on the internet. The regulator has issued an expression of interest for a system that would filter materials that would be harmful to national unity, derogatory content to religious beliefs, obscene content, and morally inappropriate content. The BTRC says the filtering system should be able to handle asymmetric traffic passing trough an international gateway without blocking normal functionality.
