BTRC takes initiative to reinstate PSTN, IP business

Thursday 2 May 2013 | 10:07 CET | News
The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission has taken initiatives to create business opportunities for PSTN and IP phone operators. The regulator has created a special package for them entitled the 'Differential baseline tariff'. Under the package, the commission has reduced the interconnection charge for making calls to a mobile operator's network. According to the new interconnection tariff plan, PSTN and IP operators will pay BDT 0.6 in the current year followed by BDT 0.9 in 2014, BDT 0.12 in 2015 and BDT 0.15 in 2016 to mobile operators.
