BTRC tells operators to curb fraud on their networks

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has issued instructions to operators to curb SMS, MMS, IVR, and USSD fraud. The regulator has said that operators allowing fraudulent activities on their networks are technically and legally liable and operators are instructed watch for forged Caller Line Identifiers and forged device identity numbers and block those from their networks. The operators are told take certain measures to combat the fraudulent activities and work with the regulator and law enforcement agencies.
