BTRC to allow Wimax operators to offer LTE service

Bangladesh's Wimax operators could offer LTE, as the telecom regulator has proposed amending the Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) licensing guidelines, the Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported. The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission's draft amendment also kept plans to issue BWA licences to another two or three firms, in order to expand internet connectivity rapidly in rural areas, as the existing two Wimax operators have failed to roll out networks within the stipulated time. At present, Banglalion and Qubee are offering Wimax internet connectivity under BWA licences. Abubakar
