CA says Orange to pay KES 1.5 bln debt before exiting Kenya

Orange must pay a KES 1.5 billion debt to get approval for the sale of its 70 percent stake in Orange Kenya, the Communication Authority director general Francis Wangusi said. The debt comprises accrued frequency and operating fees for 2014 and 2015, the Star reported. Wangusi said he was aware the government was negotiating with whoever is going to buy Orange Kenya and the negotiations are at an advanced stage.
